Terms of Use for EMODnet Bathymetry online services, data and data products
EMODnet projects and data originators strive to provide access to data with the highest quality available, but the user must be aware that the quality of the different datasets can vary considerably. Users should also take note that some portal features may not be complete and new datasets, parameters and tools are made available on a regular basis. For instance, estimates of data quality are progressively being incorporated along with the datasets, but it is the responsibility of the user to assess the adequacy of those data for their particular work purposes: neither EMODnet Bathymetry nor the data originators are liable for any negative consequences following direct or indirect use of EMODnet Bathymetry portal information, services, products and/or data.
How to acknowledge EMODnet Bathymetry services and data originators
Users are kindly requested to acknowledge EMODnet Bathymetry and its data originators/providers when using outputs based on its services, data or products. This implies acknowledging both the EMODnet Bathymetry project that provides access to the data as well as the data originators.
Please use the following acknowledgement statement:
“Data/Information used in this [type of derived work: e.g. publication/report/model/map…] was made available by the EMODnet Bathymetry project, www.emodnet-bathymetry.eu, funded by the European Commission Directorate General for Maritime Affairs and Fisheries. The data originator(s) is/are [name of the data originator + affiliation; Repeat for multiple data originators].”
Please also note that:
- the name of the data originator(s) can be found in the metadata of the data sets;
- acknowledgements to the EMODnet Digital Terrain Model should be made following the guidance as provided here.
